About the Course
This course will cover furnace tune-up procedures for modern, direct ignition furnaces. We will cover general furnace sequence of operation for the modern direct ignition furnace and:
How to perform a furnace tune-up 80% efficiency and 90% efficiency.
- Checking the air filter, gas pressure, blower capacitor.
- Cleaning the flame sensor, burners, crossover ports, drain trap, air intake screen, pressure switch.
- Measuring flame current Micro amps and the flame sensor.
- Adjusting gas pressure on the gas valve.
- Temperature rise measurement, total external static measurement.
- Ohming out the HSI ignitor, Silicon Carbide, Silicon Nitride.
- Performing Amp draw measurements on the furnace, combustion test/Orstat test.
Also, post tune-up checks, ECM motor overview, and PSC motor overview.
About the Instructor
We are pleased to work with Chad Murphy, on this program (and a sister program planned for this Fall on heating). Chad is the lead instructor of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning at Hennepin Technical College, Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.
